If you said yes to these questions, and you have good interpersonal skills, we’d like to hear from you! General Purpose and Scope of Position: Wilbur-Ellis is seeking an Agriculture Intern to help support our team in a variety of agriculture aspects while building partnerships among key teams in an effort to deliver relevant data and tools to those individuals who drive the relationships with our customers. This internship will work side-by-side with the Field Technology Specialist on GIS nutrition projects through sampling and scouting, grass harvest yield data and interpretation, and the packing of a GIS-based Agronomy service. This intern will be trained in the popular GIS tool, SMS, for features used to process yield data.  Key Personal Attributes Include:

  • Skill in creative and critical thinking to achieve goals

 Key Skills and Abilities Include:

  • College student majoring in Agriculture, Business or a related field
  • Knowledge and/or experience with agricultural operations (preferred)
  • Dependability/reliability
  • Good interpersonal skills

 Specific Responsibilities and Key Deliverables Include:

  • Work with the trials of a Hazelnut yield monitor
  • Train on proprietary software, AgVerdict 
  • Process yield data and use as a layer/tool to support nutrition in a packaged service 
  • Lean software development fundamentals of an agronomy software 
  • Complete the tasks and activities outlined by the Manager and/or Mentor
  • Support the employer, keep the employer’s business confidential, and work for the employer’s best interest.
  • Comply with company safety standards
  • Submit a final project, PowerPoint presentation of the internship
